Plans and manages PAC and government relations-related activities conducted by the association throughout Texas and in Washington, D.C. Serves as the primary contact for social media and the website.
Coordinates Day at the Capitol activities in Austin, Texas (bi-yearly)
Coordinates participation in Congressional Conference and National Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. (yearly)
Coordinates mini legislative days to be held through Texas.
Coordinates local grassroots level advocacy efforts throughout Texas (events, fundraisers, etc.)
Maintains key contact information for state and federal legislators.
Provides monthly reports to PAC Committee and other stakeholders, including financials.
Serves as a liaison to local affiliates regarding their Political Action Committees/Political Involvement Committees.
Coordinates and puts together information for NAIFA-Texas PAC board meetings, including taking minutes.
Develops, coordinates and works with PAC board members to hold local leadership calls.
Coordinates and designs promotional pieces to support the PAC.
Drafts and submits monthly campaign finance reports to the Texas Ethics Commission.
Monitors social media channels
Creates posts to engage audiences and grow social media base for channels
Supports social media, including monitoring social media for information shared by state and federal legislators.
Maintains the NAIFA-Texas website, including making sure information is current and engaging.
Regular participation in professional development and continuing education activities.
Must have experience working with and motivating committee member volunteers. Excellent computer and oral/written communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) social media, and content management software. Must be organized, detail-oriented and possess excellent time management, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
A minimum of three years of association experience, including working with a Political Action Committee and grassroots advocacy initiatives. Bachelor’s degree strongly desired.
