Midwestern State University (MSU Texas) in Wichita Falls, Texas, seeks a strategic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative leader to assume the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF). The next VPAF will be an experienced financial leader contributing energy, leadership, and expertise to the development and implementation of the College’s programs and priorities.
Reporting directly to the President, the VPAF is responsible for supporting the mission and strategic plan of the university with the highest quality financial and administrative direction. S/he is a key member of the President’s Cabinet which also includes the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs, Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice President for Enrollment Management, Vice President for University Advancement and Public Affairs, Director of Board and Government Relations, Director of Office of General Counsel, Director of the Office of Marketing and Public Information, and Director of Athletics. The VPAF chairs the Budget Oversight Committee, an advisory group to the President. The VPAF’s team includes the Controller, the Director of Budget and Management, the Director of Payroll, the Director of Human Resources, the Associate Vice President for Facilities Services, the Chief Information Officer, the Chief Information Security Officer, the Director of Purchasing and Contract Management, and the Executive Assistant to the Vice President.
Established in 1922, Midwestern State University is located midway between Oklahoma City and the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. The 255-acre campus is nestled within the city’s residential area and comprises 70 buildings, numerous playing fields, and an outdoor recreational facility near Sikes Lake. MSU Texas offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs as well as NCAA Division II Athletics, to a diverse student body of 6,102 students (undergraduate enrollment of 5,372). More than 1,600 students live on campus. Midwestern State University has a stable operating budget, an endowment of $83 million and has benefitted from solid success in attracting funding from foundations and private donors to supplement tuition, fees and state funding.
