As a public institution with a special responsibility to productively engage the public, the Manager of Community Relations will assist in the development and management of an overall strategic Community Relations Plan for UC Irvine to help the community recognize and leverage the value impact of the campus on its wellbeing.
Responsibilities include raising the awareness of UCI as well as discovering and overseeing partnerships between the University, its departments and the community. This position will manage, and increase, trusting relationships with the region's educators, nonprofits, businesses, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), opinion leaders, students and families to raise awareness about UCI. The role will also demonstrate how these communities can connect with the university to utilize UCI's vast resources. The Manager of Community Relations will represent UCI at civic meetings and community events and develop integrated partnership opportunities for the campus to add value to our community's future.
Work is performed under the administrative supervision of the Senior Director of Community and Government Relations with latitude for independent judgment and initiative with evaluation based on the effective operation of the administrative function.
