The Communications and Government Relations Coordinator designs and reviews association communication materials, oversees and manages social media presence and coordinates political action committee (PAC) activities. The position’s primary focus is on increasing awareness of the industry and appeal of membership value and its advocacy as a strong leader for the industry; and promotes educational events. This position will work in collaboration with other management staff to synchronize messaging. This position also assists with special projects and travels to TAHC&H events. This position reports to the Director of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs for PAC responsibilities and political communications and to the Chief Operations Officer for overall Communications direction.
Ensure construction and distribution of TAHC&H weekly newsletter.
Maintain, monitor and measure growth and content on social media platforms.
Add TAHC&H marketing and communications messages to social media platforms.
Maintain TAHC&H’s branding components.
In coordination with Director of Member Recruitment write and edit membership marketing and promotional material.
In coordination with Education and Events Managers write and edit educational marketing and promotional materials.
Review and edit existing membership and new promotional materials for marketing effectiveness.
Collaborates with management to maintain and manage website content and communities’ management.
Design / edit email-blasts and assists in developing text for email marketing announcements for all TAHC&H events.
Conducts other duties as assigned
GR and PAC Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates and tracks communication and activities designed to increase contributions for TAHC&H's state and federal Political Action Committee (PAC) and the home care defense fund.
Processes PAC payments and donor forms.
In coordination with Director of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs, write and edit blog posts, Legislative related communications and publications, PAC website content and PAC related communications, including updating PAC materials such as flyers, brochures, forms, and presentations.
Files complete, timely and accurate PAC finance and lobby reports to the Texas Ethics Commission and prepares reports for the Federal Ethics Commission filer.
Assist with PAC Council meetings by preparing reports, financials, communications, and meeting minutes.

Two years’ experience in communications or publications design field with some fundraising experience preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications/technology applications, or marketing. 3 years of equivalent work experience may substitute for education.
