340B Health seeks a student intern to work part time (15 – 20 hours per week, with flexibility) on issues that affect hospitals participating in the Federal 340B drug discount program beginning September 2018. The government relations intern will support all government relations initiatives, including working closely with hospital representatives across the country, and monitoring activity on Capitol Hill. This is an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand how an association government relations team operates.
Assist government relations team in all aspects of planning and executing advocacy initiatives and projects
Work directly with hospital members through grassroots outreach and special projects
Coordinate with other departments at 340B Health to support the advocacy efforts
Help facilitate consultant calls, Government Relations Committee calls, and other meetings
Monitor and summarize congressional hearings as needed
Support government relations team in outreach to Capitol Hill
Other administrative and government relations duties as assigned
A previous internship on Capitol Hill
An interest in the political process and health care policy
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong analytical, writing, and communications skills
A positive attitude and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
